About Mike Matthews
Having gained a BA Honours in Music from the University of Nottingham, Mike spent a further 2 years studying composition with music technology at Confetti Studios, Nottingham. He is a well established pianist and saxophonist and is now a freelance composer writing music for a variety of fields.
Working out of his studio in Cuckfield, Sussex he is beginning to make a name for himself as one of the most promising young English composers around. As well as his writing, Mike teaches composition and Music Technology at Worth School, Sussex.
Aside from his composing, Mike is one of the founding members and Musical Arranger of The bb Collective, one of London's leading Soul and Motown outfits (see "Links" page for more information). This, together with his solo gigs, has led to him performing at a number of high profile events and venues around the country including Kensington Palace, The Heineken Cup Final at Murrayfield, Room by the River and the Kensington Roof Gardens.
